Account Executive – Software Sales in Oil and Gas E&P - Careers - Company
Overall Purpose of Role:

The account executive’s primary function is to sell RSI’s software, solutions and related services to prospective and existing oil& gas customers. A self-starter is required capable of performing full cycle sales from prospecting through qualifying to closing of sales. In particular, RSI’s Rock Solid Attributes Petrel plug-in software will be the new product for delivery at the end of 2013.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for prospecting/cold calling, qualifying, selling and closing software sales for new and existing customers
  • Build relationships with key executives and decision makers within assigned accounts
  • Form strategic account plans including customer profiles, targeted programs, application descriptions and priority setting
  • Produce Management reports including call reports, forecast reports and action items
  • Assume full responsibility for quota attainment as agreed to and discussed with the President of Sales & Marketing
  • Develop, share and maintain an in-depth knowledge of all key competitors
  • Market and Sell Company’s other Business Units e.g. Services
  • Interact with current sales and marketing organization and all other RSI colleagues in pursuit of overall customer satisfaction
  • Participation and involvement in applicable industry conferences both internal and external
  • All other duties as assigned by manager
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2- 5 years selling software and service to the oil and gas industry
  • BS/BA degree or relevant experience
  • Geoscience & technical background
  • Petrel software experience preferred
  • Ability to aggressively manage the sales cycle to close
  • Experience in selling, presenting and demonstrating to technical and non-technical buyers
  • Ability to build relationships and quickly develop trust with all levels of management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment and highly motivated
  • Strong knowledge of Oil and Gas E&P market required
  • Should be goal oriented
  • Exceptional presentation skills required
  • Highly professional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel – approx. 30%
  • English speaking required, Spanish speaking may be helpful
