The Geologist is responsible for performing geological and geophysical interpretation on seismic data, impedance inversion data, or pre and post-stack attribute data, as necessary. Also may be required to build and refine earth models from a combination of well, seismic, geological, EM and other potential fields data types.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate strong geologic knowledge and technical concepts needed for geologic structural and fracture network analyses.
  • Integrate a wide range of rock, petrophysical, and seismic data to evaluate geologic structural elements.
  • Prepare structural and petrophysical maps and cross-sections to support assessment efforts.
  • Construct 3D geological models with the appropriate information to support your interpretations.
  • Make technically and economically sound recommendations with available information.
  • Communicate and interact with team members effectively and participate in periodic reviews, project planning, and in presentations to management

  • Other duties as assigned by manager
Requirements:
  • BSc or equivalent in a related geo-science discipline (geology, physics or geophysics) or mathematics
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in visualization and analysis of 3D seismic data in domestic and international deep-water settings with focus on interpretation of AVO and impedance inversions
  • A minimum of 3 years mapping and interpretation experience
  • Working knowledge and experience of critical Geologic principles, theories and concepts
  • Extensive quantitative analysis of geologic information and 3D structural and fracture modeling through the use of workstation and modeling application, with use of Petrel and other application desirable
  • Proven experience and knowledge of well log and image log evaluation and analysis, the geologic interpretation of seismic data and the integration of other static and dynamic reservoir data
