Overall Purpose of Role:

The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery and reporting of the assigned projects with the highest technical quality, on-time and within budget. Provides project management coaching, full time central support and drives continuous improvement of the processes. Stays abreast of technology innovations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for day to day contact and communication with clients with a focus on providing client satisfaction through delivering cutting edge technology on time and on budget
  • Supervise personnel assigned to the project
  • Responsible for the financial and technical success of the projects
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
  • Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis
  • Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization
  • Identifies business development and “add on” sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion
  • Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
  • Demonstrate willingness and aptitude to transfer technology, skills and knowledge by training and mentoring others
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Geology/Geophysics or related discipline
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of project planning, financials and execution
  • Excellent verbal, reading and writing communication skills
  • Must be willing and available to travel as needed
  • Internally driven and highly motivated to meet and exceed expectations
  • Experience with UNIX and/or LINUX based processing software and workstations
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills
  • Ability as a leader to foster cooperation and teamwork across organizational and functional boundaries
