Overall Purpose of Role:

Contribute to the development of RSI’s proprietary rock physics, seismic and CSEM modelling software (iMOSS™) by developing new rock physics models, workflows and testing new tools and functionality within the software. To work within the R&D team and help deliver R&D and production projects on time and in budget. Develop training course material/projects and conduct training for internal and external users. Become a proficient user of the software and liaise with the developers and production staff. The role requires a knowledge of rock physics and petrophysics and the ability to work in a team. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Developing rock physics models and workflows for implementation in iMOSS.
  • Become an expert iMOSS user.
  • Testing new rock physics models and tools in iMOSS.
  • Build iMOSS training manuals and conducting training courses.
  • Write short and long technical documents for internal and external circulation.
  • Development of technical marketing material and communicating new technology to both internal and external users.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients for iMOSS support.
Requirements:
  • MSc (PhD preferred) in geophysics, mathematics or physical sciences.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Background in rock physics and rock physics modelling.
  • Effective communication and team player.
  • Knowledge of Matlab (Fortran/C++ an advantage).
  • Must have current authorization to work in the US.
