Senior Geophysicist (EM) - Careers - Company
Overall Purpose of Role:
Responsible for starting, continuing, and completing CSEM processing projects, including but not limited to preprocessing of field EM data, modeling of EM responses, and inversion of EM data. Projects will primarily be in offshore reservoirs. Interaction in multi-disciplinary teams including petrophysicists, geologists and EM specialists, while working on integrated projects for global cliental. Primary focus would be in CSEM data analysis and the integration of multiple geophysical data types.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply cutting edge CSEM quantitative processing, analysis, interpretation methods on projects for clients. Ensure optimum results are achieved to allow clients to make sound exploration, development and production decisions. Identify technology improvements needed and work with R&D to address needs.
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects, coordinating with clients and fellow team members. Lead project teams. Responsible for integrating petrophysical and geophysical models based on seismic, EM and borehole interpretations.
- Manage projects according to timelines that will reflect client and RSI requirements.
- Occasionally assist with marketing products and services for RSI, with emphasis on quantitative CSEM and data integration methods. Prepare and present scientific papers, oral presentations and attend professional conferences.
Requirements:
- BS and an MS or PhD in Geophysics, mathematics or physical sciences.
- 5-7 years’ experience in CSEM data handling and analysis at minimum. Candidates with more experience are welcome.
- Effective communication and team player.
- Must have current authorization to work in the US.
Desirable Background:
- Seismic processing and data analysis.
- Quantification and characterisation of uncertainty.
- Familiarity with the principles behind building a shared earth model.
